Data Collection in a General Context is the second mathematics course in the in the Cultural, Social and Technical series in Secondary IV. The aim of this course is to develop the learner’s skills in dealing with situations that require data processing, whether this involves collecting or comparing data sets, or interpreting data resulting from a statistical study.

Content:

Leaners will be asked to deepen their knowledge of one-variable distributions by studying:

  • measures of position (percentile rank)
  • measures of dispersion (mean deviation)
  • the Stem-and-Leaf Plot

 

They will complete their training by studying two-variable distributions, learning about:

  • correlation tables
  • scatter plots
  • linear correlations
  • regression lines
Evaluation:

Passing mark for scored activity: 60%

Passing mark for supervised ministry examination: 60%
