English to Inform is the third of three courses for Secondary IV English Language Arts. The learners develop an ability to apply the codes and conventions of news stories, documentaries, and feature stories. The course addresses the three competencies: Uses language/talk to communicate and to learn (C1), reads and listens to written, spoken and media texts (C2) and produces texts for personal and social purposes (C3). By the end of the course learners will be able to discuss and analyse news reports, feature stories, and objective and persuasive documentaries.
The learning guide contains nine learning situations and three scored activities (formative evaluation situations).
