The Kinetics and Equilibrium chemistry course is a Secondary V course that develops the ability to study phenomena and technological applications that involve the rate of reaction or chemical equilibrium and to look for answers or solutions to related problems.

Duration: 50 hours (2 units)
Content

In this course, learners will learn about:

  • the rate law;
  • equilibrium constants;
  • the factors affecting the rate of reaction and chemical equilibrium;
  • Le Chatelier’s principle;
  • the relationship between the pH and the molar concentration of hydronium and hydroxide ions.

This knowledge will help the learners to explain the factors associated with certain phenomena and the operation of at least one technological application. They will also carry out several experimental activities designed to help you put into practice chemical techniques and methods.
