Geometric Representation in a Fundamental Context 1 course, which is the third in the Secondary IV Science sequence, aims to develop the learner’s skill to deal with situations that require the geometric design, description or representation of a physical space or object (two-dimensional or three-dimensional).

The SOLUTIONS learning approach is based on the acquisition of all the prescribed mathematical knowledge in a problem-solving context.

Duration: 50 hours (2 units)

Learners expand their knowledge of:

  • congruent and similar triangles;
  • equivalent figures.

They will complete their learning by expanding their knowledge of:

  • metric relations in right triangles;
  • trigonometric relations in triangles.

Passing mark for scored activity: 60%

Passing mark for supervised ministry examination: 60%
