ADULT EDUCATION

In accordance with the Common Core Basic Education Program (Secondary I and II – 7th and 8th grades) and the Diversified Basic Education Program (Secondary III to V – 9th to 12th grades) the SOFAD resources are designed to develop the learner’s skills, whether in class or in distance learning, through each course and aim for his/her educational success. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources support the basic education, and by doing so, provide access to other fields of knowledge in addition to increasing the learner’s autonomy in the exercise of his/her rights and responsibilities, in a more enlightened way.

  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

    In keeping with the objectives of the English, Language of Instruction Program (Common Core Basic Education Program) and the English Language Arts Program (Diversified Basic Education Program), SOFAD offers classroom and distance learning resources that are designed tohelp learners communicate with ease and clarity. This is achieved by promoting oral communication, comprehension, and reading and writing skills. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources help students learn to use communication strategies and knowledge effectively as well as broaden and strengthen their knowledge and strategies.

  • FRENCH, SECOND LANGUAGE

    In keeping with the objectives of the French as a Second Language Program, SOFAD offers classroom and distance learning resources that are designed to help learners develop their French-language skills and explore a culture that is not their own. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources help learners communicate in French both orally and in writing in a variety of contexts. Learners develop autonomy in their ability to choose the strategies that are best suited to the task at hand and to their role as reader, listener, speaker, interlocutor or writer.

  • COMPUTER SCIENCE

    In keeping with the objectives of the Computer Science Program of Study, SOFAD offers resources that are designed to support both classroom and distance learning of key computer science concepts and to help learners increase their ability to deal with new situations. The aim is to enable them to acquire a solid knowledge of computers on which they can build. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources help learners become computer literate and gain practical knowledge of such common computer applications as Internet browsers, word processors, e-mail and spreadsheets.

  • MATHEMATICS

    In keeping with the objectives of the Mathematics Program, SOFAD offers classroom and distance learning resources that are designed to help learners build mathematical knowledge and develop ability to employ strategies and reasoning skills. These guides and complementary multimedia resources encourage learners to solve realistic problems using various strategies and enable them to build mathematical knowledge and develop versatile skills that are useful in real-life problem-solving situations.

  • SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

    In keeping with the objectives of the Science and Technology Program of Study, SOFAD offers classroom and distance learning resources that are designed to help learners build scientific knowledge and develop an organized working approach, as well as enhance their reasoning ability, intuition, creativity and critical thinking skills through systematic observation, questioning, experimentation and the use of specialized language. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources help learners master the language of science and technology so they can process information and find connections among data as well as interpret, analyze and manage situational problems that foster critical thinking.

  • SOCIAL STUDIES / SOCIAL SCIENCE

    In keeping with the objectives of the Social Science Program of Study, SOFAD offers classroom and distance learning resources that are designed to help learners become interested in contemporary world problems and issues, develop competencies and expand their knowledge. Our learning guides and complementary multimedia resources help learners develop the following subject-specific competencies: interpret and take a position on a contemporary world problem. The social science resources contribute to learners’ general education, prepare them for their role as active members of society, and help them take a stand on social issues.
